My Ideal Client

I take an inclusive, intersectional, social justice approach in my work. I specialize in working with BIPOC folks, couples and/or folks in the Queer Community. I strive to be culturally responsive, relational, and experiential. If you are hoping to find someone who understands what is it like to navigate racial oppression, white supremacy, capitalism, and the harm of binary thinking then please reach out. I'm hoping to build trust to support you along your healing journey.

My Approach to Helping

My philosophy is an eclectic approach in which I typically draw from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Feminist Theory, among other theoretical frameworks. I take a relational, open stance in therapy to tailor each session to your unique needs. My hope is to provide a safe space, to build trust so you can explore the deeper, wounded parts of your lived experience and move towards healing. I place an emphasis on utilizing an intersectional, inclusive, body positive, and an anti-oppressive lens. This means our conversations will naturally include your cultural identities, social locations, family history, and the broader contexts of your lived experience. I believe you are the expert of your own life. Therefore, I take a collaborative approach, so we can work together and bring forth meaningful transformation as we tap into your innate strength and resilience.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I hold an undergraduate degree in Gender Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark Graduate School which was rooted in a social justice framework. Furthermore, I completed my graduate internship at the Eating Disorder Center of Portland (higher levels of care eating disorder treatment facility). I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) training in models that blend EFT and Internal Family Systems with on going supervision. I believe in plant medicine, tending to the heart, nature, and connecting with others who are important to you. I have family in Mexico and I enjoy trips to visit them. I also enjoy spend time hiking, outside, baking, cooking, being creative, gardening, time with family, friends, and swinging in my hammock.
