My Ideal Client

I work with women in their mid-40s to early 60s who are financially established and have raised families. Many feel unfulfilled in their relationships, whether divorced, widowed, or in unequal partnerships. Having lived half their lives in pain, they’ve reached a breaking point and crave transformation. These women are ready to embrace their soul’s purpose and live their remaining years with meaning and alignment, stepping into a new paradigm of fulfillment and authenticity.

My Approach to Helping

I’d describe my approach to counseling as passionately guiding clients through various life transitions, facilitating personal development, and offering support in processing experiences of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I value being compassionate, direct and having client-centered approach which I believe empowers individuals to overcome challenges and find healing on their path towards mental well-being. When I say I understand your sadness, grief, shame, pain and anger, I do. When I say that I understand how your trauma and experiences have affected your choices and all the relationships in your life, I do. I also know how to find the courage to overcome the unthinkable. My goal is to empower you to feel incredible and live a life you love. I will meet you where you are on your path and help guide you toward authenticity, freedom, and joy. Together, we will gain breakthroughs and clarity in your relationships, career, and health that you can carry with you each day of your life

Why I Became a Therapist

I know what it’s like to have your pain be so great, you’ll try anything to make it stop. Growing up, I experienced physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. I am a survivor of rape. I had an abortion at 19 and became a single mother at age 23. I have two DUIs and have also spent time in jail. I’ve navigated anorexia nervosa, addiction, chronic depression, a suicide attempt, and Graves Disease. And that’s just part of my highlight reel… I have lifetime experience with Cluster B Personality Group, and High Conflict Personality Disorder (HCP’s) deriving from my family of origin. I also have extensive professional experience with mental health disorders, as well as how your attachment style impacts your adult relationships. I only share these intimate details with you so you know where I come from and how far I’ve come in this lifetime. This is how I hold the lantern for you—with compassion, humility, honesty, grace and a deep understanding and awareness.

Specialties

  • Abuse External link

I come from a background of several types of abuse: physical, emotional, sexual, religious, intellectual, and financial. My lived experience allows me to come from a place of empathy, compassion, understanding and inclusion.

  • Divorce External link

In 2021, I filed for divorce, enduring a three-year process that included a three-day trial with 10 witnesses and cost over $300,000 collectively. After the ruling, my ex-husband filed a supersedeas and an appeal with The Appellate Court. Now a year into the process, and with extensions from his second appellate attorney, we've received the opening brief. This appeal will take another three years, potentially overturning the decision and setting a legal precedent that could change the law.

  • Personality Disorders External link

I have lifetime experience with Cluster B Personality Group, and High Conflict Personality Disorder (HCP’s) deriving from my family of origin.
