My Ideal Client

I know the joy and tumult that families can be. I work with individuals, couples, and teens. I love working with individuals who are juggling their children, their marriage, and their extended family relationships while trying to honor their own needs and desire to make a meaningful contribution in the world. I have 25 years of parenting education experience. When working with teens, I especially enjoy working with high achieving, anxious teens, teen athletes, and teens who learn differently.

My Approach to Helping

I bring wit and wisdom into our work. I share many practical tools and resources, and offer empathy and support to put them to use in your life. I have been teaching parenting classes for 25 years and have helped hundreds of couples increase affinity and communication, clarify their values, and get on the same parenting page. I find a sense of humor is essential in getting through this thing called life. We will laugh together and hopefully bring some lightness back into your days.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I earned by Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology in 1995. My emphasis has always been on helping people create fulfilling and healthy family relationships. I am licensed in California and Oregon.

    I am a Certified Parent Educator and have been teaching parenting for 25 years. I co-hosted a weekly parenting radio show/podcast called Passport to Parenting. I love helping parents to help their kids grow to be confident and competent young people.

    I love helping teens by offering a supportive adult outside the family. I work with teens who are feeling anxious, sad and overwhelmed by the demands of school, friends and family.

    I love working with couples, especially couples with children. We naturally shift between issues that come up in the marriage and issues that come up with the kids.

    There are lots of things for teens to worry about. I help teens who are anxious or overwhelmed by the expectations that are placed on them academically, athletically and socially to achieve.
