My Ideal Client

I support clients wanting to change persistent beliefs of not being good enough, heal from their past, and build more connection, joy, and fulfillment in life. Many of my clients want to understand patterns they feel stuck in, confidently manage negative thoughts and feelings, develop a kinder relationship with themselves, and feel more at ease in life.

My Background

I have nearly 10 years of experience working as a therapist in both community mental health and private practice settings. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Washington University. I'm licensed at the state level, hold designation of National Certified Counselor from the National Board for Certified Counselors, and am also a Level II EMDR trained clinician. Specialized post-degree formal training has included Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training and supervision through the EMDRIA approved Institute for Creative Mindfulness, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). In addition to my clinical work, I have served as an adjunct instructor for the Psychology Department at Columbus State Community College.

My Approach to Helping

A compassionate therapeutic relationship is the foundation of my practice. This space is client-centered, collaborative, and fosters curiosity and non-judgmental challenging. I aim to address barriers and underlying factors contributing to clients’ current concerns, and equip them with the tools and insight to confidently navigate life moving forward. My approach blends evidence-based therapies, including cognitive-behavioral based therapies, mindfulness-based therapies, and EMDR. These therapies focus on increasing awareness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while developing practical strategies to respond to them effectively, building insight around unhelpful patterns and practicing alternatives, fostering self-compassion while unlearning self-limiting beliefs, identifying and communicating underlying needs, processing past experiences impacting the present, and aligning actions with values to live more intentionally and to create meaningful change.
