My Ideal Client

I love hearing the unique story each client and couple brings to our work together. While I am focused on treating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and OCD, I am also happy to work with individuals interested in nature-based therapy. Whether you are feeling lost, alone, or wanting growth, I'm here to help!

Our Background and Approach

I am a Masters Student Intern and QMHP under the supervision of Justin Little, LMFT and Judith Faustima, LMFT. I am currently completing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oregon State University – Cascades. I am a Certified Level I Restoration Therapist. I also have training in a variety of other counseling theories and techniques, including crisis management. I have experience working with youth and adults living with severe anxiety symptoms and obsessive compulsive disorder. With almost a decade of wilderness guiding experience and a lifetime of finding joy and comfort in nature, I love to blend my personal passion with the empirical support behind nature-based counseling techniques. I believe that nature-based counseling should be accessible to everyone and am able to provide a virtual nature-based experience through video and phone mediums while you enjoy a private natural setting in your favorite park or even in your own backyard.

Why I Became a Therapist

I was drawn to the counseling field because I cherish the journey of self-discovery and the transformative potential within each of us. To me, being a counselor is to walk the path alongside another person, being a support in navigating life’s challenges. We live in a society that values individual strength and self-reliance, yet the profound impact of collaboration and community support in fostering resilience and growth is not often recognized. It is an honor to be brought into your community, your system, and to share in this work with you.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Attachment Theory External link

I help my clients gain insight into their problems and patterns using an integrative approach that draws from narrative therapy, attachment theory, and person-centered therapy.

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

I also use evidence-based treatments like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), alongside mindfulness practices and nature-based therapy to help inspire meaningful and lasting change.

  • Family Systems External link

I am a Certified Level I Restoration Therapist, a model that draws from attachment theory, mindfulness, behavior change and family dynamics to assist clients in identifying fight/flight patterns showing up in their moments of distress. We then collaborate on a plan to increase mindfulness and identify more loving and trustworthy actions to practice on a weekly basis.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

I work with adults to understand and reduce anxiety and increase mindfulness and constructive behaviors and practices. I will take the first few sessions to get to know you and customize a plan to help you meet your goals and improve your wellbeing.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

I work with couples to gain both insight and skills regarding patterns of conflict, and help them practice more life-giving patterns in their lives and relationships.

  • Depression External link

I work with adults to identify ways in which depressive patterns and symptoms show up, and then collaborate with clients to increase mindfulness and constructive behaviors and practices to improve mood, motivation and energy. I will take the first few sessions to get to know you and customize a plan to help you meet your goals and improve your wellbeing.
