My Ideal Client

If you're feeling lost, disconnected, or struggling to find your groove in the world: I hear you. I bet there are also ways that you are yearning to express yourself; to be deeply seen and supported. Are you hoping to show up in relationships authentically? Embrace parts of your identity that are exciting and scary unknowns? Make sense of past experiences? I'm here to hold space for whatever is present for you - whether it's mental health stuff, gender/sexuality, or life in general.

My Approach to Helping

I believe that you are the expert on your experiences. I am passionate about meeting you where you are, and will show up in the therapy room as my authentic self. Our sessions will be filled with curiosity, humor, warmth and consent. As we work together, I hope that you will build more compassion and acceptance for yourself, while tapping into your innate resiliencies and strengths. I use an integrative approach that is based on the needs of each client. This often includes a blend of Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, & narrative therapy. Above all, I am queer-affirming and embrace a multicultural lens. I strive for sessions to be a safe, non-judgemental and anti-oppressive space for everyone. I love supporting folks around LGBTQ identity development, body image concerns, anxiety & depression, and healing trauma.

Why I Became a Therapist

I am fascinated by the human experience; how we create meaning and become fulfilled in a world that often tells us we can’t or shouldn’t exist in our fullest expression. I hope that along my path, I can bear witness to yours with a deep sense of respect, empathy, and compassion. Outside the therapy room, I love making psychedelic rock music, creating imperfect pottery and reading sci-fi books. I spend my free time hanging out with my three cats and soaking up the sun whenever possible.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

I work primarily with LGBTQ folks. I have a special place in my heart for supporting bisexual women and femmes who are navigating difficult relationship stuff, feeling disconnected from community, and exploring their identity. I have experience supporting people with: coming out, transition, gender identity, relationships, building community, and processing the ongoing impacts of oppression and religious upbringings. I offer letters for gender affirming care as well.

  • PTSD External link

Trauma impacts our thinking patterns, relationship to self and our bodies, how we show up in the world, and our relationships with others. Together we will gently tend to this with consent, compassion, care, and safety. I primarily use IFS and somatic therapy when working with trauma. We learn how to create more safety within the body, process traumatic experiences, build self empathy, and increase your tolerance around difficult emotions.

  • Body Image Issues External link

Stuck in the cycle of trying to change, fix or control your body? Exhausted from patterns of dieting, an inner critic, and difficulty feeling comfortable as you are? Maybe you're in recovery from an eating disorder and are hoping to continue the work on healing your relationship to your body and food. I use a liberation-based approach and health at every size framework to address body image issues, relationship to food, and beauty standards.

  • Codependency External link

If you struggle to set boundaries, navigate relationships, feel authentic, and advocate for yourself - you're not alone. I love working with folks who want to learn more communication skills and feel more confident in how they show up in their relationships. Together we can work through codependent/people pleasing patterns that are impacting your self-esteem and how you relate others.
