My Ideal Client

If you're feeling lost, disconnected, or struggling to find your groove in the world: I hear you. I bet there are also ways that you are yearning to express yourself; to be deeply seen and supported. Are you hoping to show up in relationships authentically? Embrace parts of your identity that are exciting and scary unknowns? Make sense of past experiences? I'm here to hold space for whatever is present for you - whether it's mental health stuff, gender/sexuality, or life in general.

My Approach to Helping

I believe that you are the expert on your experiences. I am passionate about meeting you where you are, and will show up in the therapy room as my authentic self. Our sessions will be filled with curiosity, humor, warmth and consent. As we work together, I hope that you will build more compassion and acceptance for yourself, while tapping into your innate resiliencies and strengths. I use an integrative approach that is based on the needs of each client. This often includes a blend of Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic therapy, & narrative therapy. Above all, I am queer-affirming and embrace a multicultural lens. I strive for sessions to be a safe, non-judgemental and anti-oppressive space for everyone. I love supporting folks around LGBTQ identity development, body image concerns, anxiety & depression, and healing trauma.

Why I Became a Therapist

I am fascinated by the human experience; how we create meaning and become fulfilled in a world that often tells us we can’t or shouldn’t exist in our fullest expression. I hope that along my path, I can bear witness to yours with a deep sense of respect, empathy, and compassion. Outside the therapy room, I love making psychedelic rock music, creating imperfect pottery and reading sci-fi books. I spend my free time hanging out with my three cats and soaking up the sun whenever possible.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

I work with LGBTQ+ people and specialize in bisexual identity development. As a queer therapist, working with my community is one of my biggest joys. I have experience supporting people around coming out, transitioning, exploring gender identity, relationships, and processing the ongoing impacts of oppression.

  • PTSD External link

Many folks I work with have experienced trauma due to societal oppression, religion, relationships, and early childhood experiences. This impacts our thinking patterns, relationship to self and our bodies, how we show up in the world, and creates a wound that requires tending to. Together we will gently tend to this with consent, compassion, care, and safety. We will explore stories and narratives of resilience, connection to the body, and changing relational patterns that arise from trauma.
