My Ideal Client

My ideal clients are on a path to address trauma, boost self-esteem, and explore their future possibilities. They are usually dealing with PTSD, intrusive thoughts, residual childhood trauma, or low self-worth. I support couples through relationship difficulties and parenting. I am seeking clients that are open to self-reflection and dedicated to trying new approaches to habitual tendencies. If you’re ready for a supportive space to spark meaningful change, let’s get started!

My Background and Approach

I came to the counseling profession in an unconventional way. I worked as Peace Corps Volunteer in a rural town along the Dominican/Haitian border where I worked with school counselors to enhance their sex education curricula. In addition to my training as a clinical mental health counselor, I am also a trained school counselor. Because of this, my approach emphasizes skill sharing and understanding the why behind the how. As an experiential therapist, I facilitate transformative experiences that lead to those "AHA" moments and encourage clients to discover new ways of interacting with their environment. My goal is to create meaningful experiences that model and guide clients in forming fresh, fulfilling connections with themselves and the world around them.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that each individual is the expert of their own life. Because of this my approach is client lead and collaborative in nature. I look for progress over perfection, and I think having a strong connection to personal values serves as a compass for how to make life decisions. In my free time I plan art summer camps for low income students. I press flowers, do mosaics, and participate in a book club. I feel most alive when I am tending an altar or working in my garden.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Couples Counseling External link

I have completed the Externship in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy through ICEEFT and am also Level 2 trained and certified in the Gottman Method. I integrate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method (GM) to create a balanced therapeutic space that encourages guided emotional vulnerability and new ways of connecting, while also focusing on concrete goals and milestones to work toward both in and outside of sessions.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) External link

I utilize Parts and Memory Therapy (PMT), a modality similar to Internal Family Systems (IFS), to help clients release emotional burdens from the past and develop healthier internal dynamics. Through PMT, clients are guided to connect with and heal the 'parts' of themselves that hold onto difficult emotions or memories, leading to a greater sense of inner peace and wholeness. I am currently working toward becoming a certified PMT therapist.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • PTSD External link

I specialize in treating trauma using a person-centered approach, Parts and Memory Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I create a safe, empathetic space for clients to explore and process their experiences at their own pace. Through these methods, I help clients reframe trauma narratives, release emotional burdens, and develop coping strategies that foster resilience and restore a sense of control and safety.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

Using the Gottman Method to pinpoint where couples are missing each other, I guide them through Emotionally Focused Therapy to create moments where each partner feels seen, heard, and truly understood. In session we will address attachment wounds and facilitate a safe space to rekindle connection.
