My Ideal Client

I desire to create a safe space for you if you are in a place of transition, going through loss and grief, or, struggling in your relationships. I am passionate about creating a welcoming and safe space for people to have the courage to face their fears, heal, and live into the deepest expression of themselves.

My Background

I specialize in both group and individual work. As a certified Spiritual Director, I have held contemplative and mindfulness-based spaces for individuals to slow down and connect with their wisdom and truth. My training has grounded me in the awareness that it is our bodies that give us our answers and when we stop to breathe and listen we can find the answers we have been seeking.

Why I Became a Therapist

I am in the field of Counseling because I believe that more mental health support is needed in our world, due to the many challenges and traumatic experiences that individuals face. I think that people are resilient and capable of healing and positive change. My life has been focused on peacemaking, social justice, eco-justice, and equality for all people. It is important for me to continue to listen to and learn from marginalized populations and be active in finding ways to provide resources and care to those who do not have access to many resources.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Attachment Theory External link

I am trained in Restoration Therapy which is based on Attachment Theory.

  • Gestalt External link

I have 20 years of experience working with clients as a spiritual director and bringing contemplative practices and mindfulness into sessions. Gestalt therapy is an effective theory that I work with to help clients come into the present moment and connect with movement and their bodies.

  • Nonviolent Communication External link

Over the past years, I have worked with non-violent communication to help clients build skills in understanding and owning their feelings and knowing how to best communicate with others in times of conflict.
