My Ideal Client

Young people face a huge number of challenges navigating today’s world, and a global pandemic has amplified an already difficult time, figuring out relationships, values, school and more. It can be difficult to watch your teen struggle and not know where to turn for support for yourself or them. I work with kids to develop positive coping skills, identify stressors and move forward to achieve their highest potential. I worked in schools for 10 years and supported youth through many challenges.

My Approach to Helping

I provide individual counseling to adolescents who are seeking to live more fulfilling, less burdened lives, as well as guidance to parents and caregivers who want to better support them. My approach is strengths-based, incorporating mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and healing-centered strategies. I believe in the healing power of nature and draw from Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Polyvagal Theory, while remaining flexible in my approach to meet each client’s unique needs. Every therapeutic relationship I build is personalized, weaving together evidence-based practices with your specific goals to create a treatment plan that best supports your growth and well-being. My aim is to help you, or your child, develop the tools and confidence to live your best life. Additionally, I offer consultations for parents and caregivers to provide support in navigating challenges and strengthening family relationships.

Why I Became a Therapist

I feel privileged to get to work with youth; witnessing them mature and start considering themselves and the world in new ways is so powerful. Recently, a student told me “You know what? I really like talking with you, you make me think about things differently”. It’s moments like this that make me so excited by this work- to see the seeds we plant start to grow and know that the conversations we have might be able to change the trajectory of their lives.
