What I Specialize In
I've spent a good portion of my career working in Eating Disorder treatment higher levels of care and came to private practice in 2019 where I continue to support clients through recovery, difficult patterns in relationships with food or exercise, and long standing body image concerns. I'm also certified in Perinatal Mental Health, and have found so much. meaning in working with prospective and current parents through all it means to bring a child into a family. I can offer support through journeys of infertility, loss and miscarriage, family planning decisions, navigating pregnancy, choosing life without children, or the entrance into parenthood. A good portion of my clients are also folks between 16 & 35 looking to better understand themselves, their histories, and cultivating a life congruent with their values. I often work with people in the LGBTQIA+ communities, and offer gender affirming support for teens and adults.
My Approach to Helping
I see therapy as a healing relationship, not a quick fix. Because of this, I focus on trust and connection as a tool for helping you make practical changes, at your pace, and in a way that feels right to you. With me, therapy is a co-created, safe space. I offer warm, direct, and compassionate dialogue. I can offer support in areas of anxiety, depression, grief, family and relationship challenges, identity formation, sexuality, gender identity, and personal growth. I take a Client-Centered approach to therapy, while drawing upon insights from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, broader Family Systems, and Mindfulness. I aim to create an environment supportive to people with all body sizes/shapes, abilities, genders, sexual orientations, relationship statuses, races and ethnicities, and religious affiliations. I am committed to anti-racist work in my life and the therapy room. I'm also learning how to continuously do better here, and I'm open to your feedback!
