My Ideal Client

Do you struggle with the pressures, norms, and expectations that society has placed on you? Do these kinds of pressures cause you to feel anxious, fatigued, pissed off, and helpless? Seen throughout history and experienced today, we struggle to fit ourselves within the strategically made boxes that society has built for us. How about we recycle the boxes and start from scratch?

My Approach to Helping

Stepping into the world of therapy can feel intimidating, but it’s also a space where transformation begins. My own journey with therapy started at a young age, with pauses along the way, yet I always found myself returning. Each time, I poured out the swirling thoughts and emotions running wild in my head. My hope is to offer the understanding and encouragement that you might need, as we navigate the raw, unfiltered, and messy parts of life. Drawing on years of experience with vulnerable populations and Trauma-Informed Care, I use a person-centered approach to therapy, while also including elements from Feminist Therapy. This means we focus on you—your emotions, strengths, and sense of belonging—so you can navigate this wild, unpredictable world with confidence and purpose.

My Values as a Therapist

I believe that we live in a world, in a society, that tries its hardest to make us feel small. I believe that we are constantly met with contradicting expectations of who and what we should be in this world. It is these kinds of expectations and norms that introduce pain and chaos into our lives. I value each individual for who they are and welcome diverse individuals, beliefs, and values into my space, with an effort to help you make sense of who you are in this world. Though therapy is hard work, I emphasize and encourage self-care in all forms with my clients (firm believer in receiving tattoos as a form of therapy) and am no stranger to recognizing that our society has not been built to encourage self care.
