Life is full of challenges. When these combine or intensify to increase stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma, it can leave us feeling limited - even paralyzed, isolated, addicted. If we are victims of abuse or suffering through a narcissistic relationship, the problems can compound, and the effects become noticeable. Thriving gives way to surviving. Relationships and jobs suffer. Engaging in therapy can reverse this progression and help to regain a sense of movement, ease, and joy.

ADHD is not simply inattention or hyperactivity. ADHD affects every single domain of life and plays havoc with our emotions and ability to relate to others. ADHD can cut us off from our sense of self and communitiy. Behavioral strategies can help with executive functioning; deeper approaches drawing on parts work and experiential therapy can drill down and target all the ways that ADHD affects us, from disconnection, inertia, difficult emotions, & relentless inner criticism.
Anxiety can have many root causes. Sometimes the cause is found in current circumstances. Other times, it is not easy to identify the cause. I use trauma-informed cognitive, somatic, behavioral, emotion-focused, psychodynamic, and/or mindfulness approaches tailored to your particular situation to uncover root causes and identify the most effective strategies to work with anxiety.
Cognitive patterns (i.e., the way we tend to think about things) are one of several factors contributing to persistent and major depressive episodes. Other factors can include external circumstances, trauma history, challenging family dynamics, difficult relationships...whatever the cause, these can be targeted through cognitive, somatic, experiential, and behavioral approaches. We will identify what will work for you and optimize treatment for your circumstances.
It was believed that trauma symptoms only persisted for soldiers, e.g. "shell shock." Research has clearly shown that trauma can result from a variety of causes, including early childhood experiences, injustice, accidents, even witnessing intense events can "leave a mark" that continues to affect us long after the event has passed, impairing our ability to fully live. I utilize gentle, effective, and trauma-informed approaches that honors your inner wisdom to heal in a safe environment.
Life throws us curve balls...that is the nature of things. But sometimes it is hard to feel the ground underneath us and see the way forward. A sense of stuckness can set in without us even realizing it. This keeps us in paralysis, delaying our potential. I utilize guided inquiry to identify and reconnect with your core values, recognize and remove barriers, and develop inspiration and strategies to move forward, aligned with your deepest aspirations.
