My Ideal Client

Are you overwhelmed with life? Feel like you can't get ahead no matter how hard you try? I will help you take charge of your life by equipping you with tools to transform yourself. I will help you navigate your everyday challenges that seem to obstruct your path to creating a life worth living that you are excited about. I also help people explore their spirituality. Were you raised in a rigid religion or have left one that dominated your life? Let's together create meaning in your new life.

My Approach to Helping

I practice from a Person-Centered approach. I believe in the human Spirit’s potential for growth, change, and renewal to bring about transformation that creates a life worth living that you can be excited and passionate about. I utilize the Science of Yoga and Meditation and Mindfulness practices such as the power of the Present Moment and other Mindfulness practices that bring compassion and unconditional acceptance of self to help my clients achieve their treatment goals that we agree upon together. I use Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to help clients in working through and resolving personal relationship issues that they struggle with at their job, at home as well as with their children and spouses. Changing is hard I encourage you to have compassion for yourself during this process. I have been a Yoga and Meditation Teacher for 7 years and have practiced and been a recipient of the transforming power of the Science of Yoga and Meditation for around 20 years.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe the most important component in Counseling is first and foremost the Therapeutic Relationship. This will determine how effective and successful therapy will be for you. Do you feel heard? Do I see you for the unique individual that you are? Do you feel understood, do you feel safe? All research confirms the relationship between therapist and client needs to be supportive, nurturing and intact for you to feel safe enough to change and achieve your goals that we set together as a team. I have served in diverse types of nonprofit agencies over the years. Such as an emergency services counselor at a homeless shelter to battered women and children at a runaway youth shelter to working at a juvenile detention facility with felony convicted juveniles. I have also worked with elementary, junior, and senior high school students with different personal and academic issues with which they were struggling. I have worked with the elderly. I worked with impoverished kids from Mexico.
