My Approach to Helping

I work with adults (ages 18+ only) on a broad selection of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, grief & loss, adjusting to life changes, and stress management. I have a special focus on pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety support. My treatment approach is holistic, meaning I treat the whole person and view the mind-body connection as important to our overall well-being. As a PMHNP, I have been trained to understand how genetic, developmental, biological, environmental, and psychosocial influences can significantly impact our health. As a therapist, I utilize a combination of therapeutic theories and techniques to help meet your individual needs. I often incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, supportive, and interpersonal therapy techniques into our sessions. In addition to therapy, medication can be beneficial and we can discuss whether this option may be the best choice for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I received my Master's degree in Nursing after completing the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at Oregon Health & Sciences University. I am board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and have been licensed and practicing since 2011. Prior to returning to graduate school, I worked as a Labor & Delivery RN caring for high-risk obstetric patients and their families. I have worked to unite my passion for reproductive health and mental health and have focused on the specialty of reproductive psychiatry since beginning my practice. I am passionate about supporting new parents and their families through the potential challenges experienced before, during, and after pregnancy and other reproductive life cycle changes.
