My Ideal Client

I work well with clients who are seeking to establish a deeper understanding of themselves, are curious about their inner lives and how their history has impacted them and lives on in present day, gaining increased insight and awareness into aspects of their experience that may be inaccessible or unconscious, and using the therapeutic relationship to better understand their own thoughts, feelings, and ways of relating with others.

My Approach to Helping

I strive to establish a supportive, respectful, and affirming environment in which clients can identify and explore thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and recurring patterns of behavior that may be interfering with their capacity to experience a fuller and more satisfying life. I place a high emphasis on the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and I offer a collaborative, relational, and culturally sensitive approach in which both therapist and client are actively working together to deepen self-understanding and promote positive change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a psychologist licensed by the Oregon Board of Psychologist Examiners. I earned a Master's and Doctor of Psychology Degrees in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (fully accredited by the American Psychological Association), and completed an APA-approved internship as well as a post-doctoral residency. I also completed additional postdoc training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Oregon Psychoanalytic Center and I am currently a candidate in psychoanalysis at the Oregon Psychoanalytic Institute. I am trained in psychoanalytic, humanistic/existential, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. I work with a wide array of issues surrounding anxiety, depression, interpersonal struggles, grief/loss, identity (including LGBTQ), and post-trauma concerns, including working with adult survivors of childhood abuse.
