My Ideal Client

Are you a man feeling stuck with anxiety, depression, or substance use? My ideal client is someone ready to take action and move forward, focusing on what’s possible rather than what's holding them back. I work with men who want to create real change in their lives by building on their strengths. I understand the challenges men face and provide a judgment-free space where you’ll feel heard and supported. Together, we’ll overcome obstacles and help you become the man you want to be.

What I Specialize In

I specialize in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), a proven, goal-oriented approach that focuses on moving forward rather than exploring the past. SFBT has been shown to be effective in over 150 clinical trials and helps clients achieve meaningful results more quickly than traditional therapies. By emphasizing your strengths and best hopes for the future, we’ll work together to create the change you want to see in your life. My approach is practical, empowering, and centered on your unique goals. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach helpful for managing anxiety, depression, and negative thought patterns. CBT helps you understand how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions, empowering you to make real changes. The model of CBT is that most psychological distress comes from our interpretation an event. It’s a practical, effective therapy that gives you tools to overcome challenges and move forward with confidence.

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist because I’ve personally experienced how overwhelming it can be to manage mental health while navigating life’s demands. For years, I struggled with an undiagnosed mental disorder, and through my own journey of healing, I gained deep insight and empathy for those going through similar challenges. That experience drives my passion for helping others. I understand the obstacles firsthand, and it’s both a privilege and a joy to use what I’ve learned to support others in their recovery, helping them build resilience and move forward with strength and confidence.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy External link

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is an outcome-oriented therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying and leveraging clients' existing strengths and resources to achieve their desired outcomes. Instead of delving into past issues, SFBT emphasizes present solutions and future possibilities. This short-term therapy helps clients develop practical strategies to overcome challenges and make meaningful progress in a relatively brief timeframe.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Men's Issues External link

As a man, I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to address men's issues by helping clients define their personal goals, identify strengths, and build on what’s working in their lives. I provide a space for men to explore challenges like emotional expression, societal expectations, and relationships, while empowering them to envision their ideal future and take steps toward achieving it, guided by their values and strengths.

  • Alcohol Abuse and Alcohol Dependence External link

As a therapist in recovery, I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to address alcohol dependence by helping clients identify their strengths, resources, and past successes to create a vision for a sober future. I focus on what’s working, setting small, achievable goals to build momentum, and empowering clients to develop their own strategies for recovery, all while drawing on my own experience to offer understanding and support.

  • Depression External link

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) can be effective for addressing depression by helping clients focus on solutions rather than problems. It encourages clients to identify their strengths, past successes, and envision a preferred future. By setting small, achievable goals, clients can build confidence and momentum toward positive change, fostering hope and empowering them to regain control over their lives.

  • Anxiety External link

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) can help clients with anxiety by focusing on solutions and envisioning a future where anxiety is more manageable. SFBT empowers clients to identify their strengths, coping strategies, and past successes. By setting small, realistic goals, clients can reduce anxiety step-by-step, building confidence and fostering a sense of control over their thoughts and reactions.
