My Ideal Client

You long for more ease, clarity, and feeling understood and supported. Instead you often feel overwhelmed, confused, misunderstood and/or alone, despite your best efforts. You're hard on yourself and frustrated with a chaotic world. I specialize in outcasts, nerds and bleeding hearts, including LGBTQ+, poly/ENM, kink and/or neurodivergence, so you'll find no judgement here. Let’s create space to acknowledge and deal with your pain, discover and expand your strengths, and build a path forward.

My Background and Approach

My Master's degree in Integral Counseling Psychology is enhanced by training in Brainspotting, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Pain Reprocessing Therapy and polyvagal approaches. My clinical approach is trauma-informed and integrates psychodynamic, existential-humanistic, CBT/ACT and mindfulness-based perspectives and strategies that are customized to your preferences and needs. My therapeutic style is fundamentally relational. I'm your confidante and ally. We'll explore your thoughts and emotions, and how you relate with yourself and others, to increase your awareness of the patterns and stories of your life and transform limitations into resources. Discover new perspectives, life strategies and ways to move through anxiety, depression or numbness to feel more connected and grounded, with increased ability to flexibly respond to life stressors. I'll help you know (and love!) yourself more, experience deeper connections in your relationships, and feel more ease and joy.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Mindfulness-based External link

My training in Integral Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies blended Eastern and Western perspectives on human psychology and development. I incorporate mindfulness as the gateway to authentic presence and connection to the body, mind and heart.

  • Humanistic  External link

My approach is deeply humanistic, with a focus on increasing access to your intuition and heart through a collaborative, curious and compassionate therapeutic relationship.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Polyamorous and Open Relationships External link

Over 15 years of experience working with clients in polyamorous and open relationships, supporting individuals and relationship partners in developing more intimacy through expanding curiosity, improving communication and collaboration skills, reducing reactivity and increasing authentic connection.

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

Over 15 years of experience working with LGBTQ+ clients on a variety of issues and concerns, including developing authentic identity, strength through vulnerability, life beyond trauma and resilient, loving relationships, as well as queer family planning.

  • Gender Identity External link

Over 15 years of experience working with trans and non-binary clients, supporting authentic identity exploration, transition related care (for those pursuing transition), and overall support beyond identity.
