My Ideal Client

You long for more ease, clarity, and feeling understood and supported. Instead you often feel overwhelmed, confused, misunderstood and/or alone, despite your best efforts. You're hard on yourself and frustrated with a fucked up world. Whether you're queer, trans, poly and/or neurodivergent, or simply outside the box, I'm ready to meet you where you're at without judgment. Let’s create space to acknowledge and deal with your pain, discover and expand your strengths, and build a path forward.

My Background and Approach

My Master's degree in Integral Counseling Psychology is enhanced by training in Brainspotting, Narrative Exposure Therapy, Pain Reprocessing Therapy and polyvagal approaches, including the Safe and Sound Protocol. My clinical approach is trauma-informed, psychodynamic, existential-humanistic and mindfulness-based. I work with diverse people and issues, and I specialize in LGBTQ+ identities and concerns. My therapeutic style is fundamentally relational. We'll explore your thoughts and emotions, and how you relate with yourself and others, to increase your awareness of the patterns and stories of your life and transform limitations into resources. Discover new perspectives, life strategies and ways to move through anxiety, depression or numbness to feel more connected and grounded, with increased ability to flexibly respond to life stressors. I'll help you know (and love!) yourself more, experience deeper connections in your relationships, and feel more ease and joy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe a good relationship with a skilled therapist is transformative. That's been true for me. Self discovery, healing, growth and lifelong learning are core values, and I love to share wisdom I've integrated as a therapist and client. As a truth seeker & life scientist, I've explored science and non-duality through wisdom traditions for over 3 decades: Zen Buddhism, Vedanta and mystical Christianity, as a reclamation of my family religion. I hold tension as I differentiate esoteric from destructive forms of Christianity and other religions focused on power-over, instead of power-with/within, due to "lower" violent impulses that are rising again globally. I am also deeply curious about human dynamics, including ways social media and politics can be used to connect or attack. As a progressive, I pursue social justice from nuanced perspectives. I attempt to hold complexity and see how people are often products of their unexamined environments and well-funded propaganda.

My approach is deeply humanistic, with a focus on increasing access to your intuition and heart through a collaborative, curious and compassionate therapeutic relationship.
