My Ideal Client

I work with school-aged children, teens, and adults. Whether you are experiencing a current life stressor or a longer-term concern (such as ADHD, anxiety, depression and other mood-related disorders, PTSD, sleep disorders, or schizophrenia), we will work together to develop a treatment plan tailored to best support your individual needs.

My Approach to Helping

You have taken the courageous and often difficult step of seeking help. It might help to know that I approach each new therapeutic relationship with warmth and curiosity. We are each unique in our life experiences, beliefs, joys, and struggles, and the most important thing I can do is to really listen. There are so many tools and approaches we can use, and there is no one “right” way to approach an issue. I believe in the importance of holistic approaches including exercise, mindfulness, psychotherapy, and medication. My practice style is diverse and is informed by cognitive therapeutic and humanistic approaches and an interest in Nonviolent Communication. I look forward to supporting you on this journey.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

The field of psychology is a long-term passion. As long as I can remember, I have spent my time trying to understand the human experience. I enjoyed studying in my PMHNP MSN program at Gonzaga University as well as my previous degrees, a bachelor of nursing degree at Linfield University and a BA in psychology from Carleton College. Prior to becoming a PMNP, I worked as a registered nurse for 17 years in a variety of settings across the lifespan including residential psychiatric treatment for children and adolescents as well as inpatient geriatric psychiatry. My education and experience leave me with a strong background to draw upon in my practice.
