My Ideal Client

Don't invalidate your pain. I believe you and your relationships are too important to miss therapy. Maybe it’s that reoccurring fight leaving you stuck, not heard, or feeling hopeless? Or you are ready to address that anxiety or loss of motivation that's been accepted as your new normal. Maybe what previously worked feels dull and you want to see and feel progress again. I use evidence-based interventions from Emotionally Focused Therapy, CBT, Narrative, and others to help accomplish your goals.

Our Approach to Helping

My approach is to first address your immediate concerns with empathy and evidence-based tools to support your needs. I offer warmth and education throughout the therapeutic process to support my clients. In our time, I like to explore what shapes us the most, our important relationships, and the stories we tell and believe about ourselves. Coming to therapy can be scary and vulnerable. Whether this is your first time or you are seasoned to therapy, I welcome you as you are. We will go at your pace. I will tailor the entire process to your goals and strengths. I have hope and believe the human potential we hold is outstanding and I am eager for the opportunity to join you in this journey.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Emotionally Focused External link

From my training as a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, I am experienced in helping couples and individuals foster emotional connection and healing. I specialize in identifying and addressing negative interaction patterns, helping clients express vulnerable emotions, and promoting secure emotional bonds. By utilizing EFT techniques, I support clients in creating lasting, positive changes in their relationships, cultivating intimacy, trust, and emotional resilience.

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

I help individuals identify and reframe negative thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and behavioral challenges. I guide clients in developing healthier, more constructive thinking and coping strategies. Through practical techniques like cognitive restructuring and behavioral activation, I help clients improve their mental well-being, increase resilience, and achieve lasting change in their lives.

  • Narrative  External link

Narrative therapy helps develop deep understanding of how personal stories shape identity and actions. I help clients explore their narratives, uncovering patterns and meanings that influence their experiences. By guiding clients to reframe their stories, I empower them to adopt new perspectives, fostering resilience and growth. This approach allows individuals and couples to challenge limiting beliefs, create alternative narratives, and build more fulfilling, empowered lives and relationships.

  • Gottman Method External link

With Gottman Method, we focus on enhancing communication, managing conflict, and building trust within relationships. I help couples strengthen their emotional connection by applying tools like the Four Horsemen antidotes and the Sound Relationship House theory. Through structured interventions, I guide couples to improve their interactions, deepen intimacy, and create a strong, lasting partnership based on mutual respect and understanding.

Issues I Treat

I address anxiety by helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Through Narrative Therapy, we explore the client's story, reframe their perceptions, and empower them to create new narratives around their anxiety. Psychodynamic interventions allow us to understand underlying unconscious factors and past experiences contributing to anxiety, fostering insight and emotional processing for lasting change.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

I utilize Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help couples identify and express vulnerable emotions, fostering emotional intimacy and secure attachment. We work on breaking negative cycles of interaction and creating a safe emotional environment. I also utilize Gottman techniques, I teach couples skills for managing conflict, improving communication, and enhancing emotional connection. Together, these approaches strengthen the relationship by promoting trust, empathy, and deeper emotional bonds

  • Depression External link

I approach this a few ways.I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to feelings of hopelessness and sadness. Through Narrative Therapy, we explore and reframe the client's personal narrative, empowering them to create a more positive self-story. Psychodynamic interventions help uncover unconscious conflicts and past experiences that may be influencing current emotional states, fostering insight and emotional healing
