My Ideal Client

Are you seeking inner growth, balance in life, or help with anxiety, depression, compassion fatigue and trauma? I am here to help you experience and respond to life authentically and skillfully. Counseling with me is from a humanistic “you first” approach to help you incorporate your own unique values and strengths.

My Approach to Helping

I provide therapy through existential (value, strength, and big picture-focus) and humanistic (you first, authentic, relationships based) styles. In session we can explore the here-and-now, examine thought patterns, develop self care plan, or even use humor to embrace life and yourself. In session we will focus on using your strengths and values to tackle depression, anxiety, loss, life transition, work-life balance, or self-esteem.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As long as I can remember, I have always respected the power of stories. Not just literature, but the real stories about our lives. We share our experiences, hear about our ancestors, and define who we are in this world through stories. Everyone’s story is important. Everyone has the right to author their own story and live their authentic life. Often our lives do not feel like our own because of difficult turns and twists. I find value in re-discovering resiliency and strength that is developed throughout life. I firmly believe we all have the power and strength to tackle life's stressors, joys, and tragedies. Gaining awareness of our values and strength helps us cope, thrive, and skillfully live life. I have had the privilege of being witness to the resiliency of many people with many struggles and many successes. This privilege formed and carries my belief that we all have the power and strength to tackle life's stressors, joys, and tragedies.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Compassion Fatigue External link

I specialize in Compassion Fatigue and Vicarious Trauma. I am a Certified Compassion Fatigued Professional (CCFP). If you are a professional helper beginning to feel burnt out or traumatized by your work, this is a normal reaction that occurs to professional helpers. You can grow and cope with it! You owe it to yourself, family, friends, and clients to take action.

  • Adjustment Disorder External link

Life takes many twists and turns. Changes can be unexpected, planned, natural, feared, or welcomed. Sometimes the emotional stress can feel like too much. Change is inevitability; letting it control our emotions is not. There is always the opportunity to transform and promote growth and wellness. I look forward to the chance to help you transform and grow.
