Our Background and Approach

Our therapists have extensive training working with couples and relationships. We use a variety of therapy models to help our clients including Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method, and many others. Our therapists on staff have years of experience helping couples and individuals navigate challenges in their relationships and lives. Our practice also has sub-specialties in the areas of affair recovery, men's issues, and women's issues. We have licensed therapists including Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers.

    Douglas Counseling has been working with and specializing in men's issues for over a decade. We have developed tried and trusted methods for helping men gain valuable insights, change harmful thinking, and develop practical skills that lead to lasting change. Areas we address in men's issues include relationship struggles, dealing with stress, working with anger, parenting challenges, finding balance in life, navigating family issues, and improving self-esteem.

    Douglas Counseling has a specialty in working with women's issues. We work with women to help them uncover the core issues behind the challenges they face. Common areas of focus with women include improving boundaries, empowerment, achieving healthy self-esteem, managing caretaking roles, finding equity in relationships, and learning to speak out from an assertive place.
