My Approach to Helping
My therapeutic approach is genuine and warm, highly relational, integrative, and grounded in attachment, humanistic, holistic, and existential theories. I honor the connection of mind, body, heart, and spirit, and I incorporate mindfulness and somatic-based interventions to bring greater awareness to one’s whole being. I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment where you will know and feel that you are accepted just as you are. I view my role as that of a mindful companion supporting you on your journey. I will follow your lead, while remaining curious, engaged, and honest in what I notice. I invite you to stay open to new directions, yet grounded in the present moment, as you access your own wisdom and gain new insight and awareness. I will meet you with an open heart and mind, with understanding, patience, encouragement, and compassion as we uncover and explore the underpinnings of your life experiences to facilitate the growth, healing, and change that you desire.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in your wholeness and inherent worth and wisdom. I also believe that you are meant to be truly heard, seen, and witnessed by another. As a client, I have experienced the healing and growth that is possible when one is met with the genuine presence, support, and compassion of an attuned therapist. It is my honor to collaborate with and hold space for others as they reclaim their strength, repair their relationships, and remember their true self. As a therapist, I am committed to my own personal, political, and spiritual evolution, grounded in the belief that compassionate counseling requires a commitment to personal growth, cultural humility, and to always striving to genuinely understand the myriad lived experiences of diverse populations. I view humans through a multicultural and relational lens with the understanding that our well-being is impacted by our identities, the social and cultural systems we inhabit, and the state and health of our relationships.
