My Ideal Client

Do you have difficulty with feeling overly sensitive, not knowing what helps you in times of trouble, or focusing on what’s important to you? Maybe you desire structure, consistency, or the ability to stand up for yourself or others you care about? If your dreams and hopes for confidence, community, and creativity aren't developing strong roots in your life, please get in contact with me as a strong action towards cultivating that growth. Most experienced with LGBTQ+ and trauma survivors.

My Approach to Helping

I like to start with a building a trusting relationship/therapeutic alliance where your voice and opinions on problems and care are equally important in the room. My approach is person-centered, meaning we focus on you as an individual. Other ways we pursue understanding is to explore with intersectional feminist theory, which considers how different aspects of your identity (like gender, race, and class) affect your experiences and nature-based techniques (using the healing power of nature). Other conversations we might have would involve Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which encourages accepting your thoughts and feelings, Motivational Interviewing which helps you find the motivation to change, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which helps change negative thought patterns. I highly encourage bibliotherapy which involves reading/listening to materials to supplement the changes being made.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Before I became a therapist, I know when I needed help that I needed someone to sit through the storm of it with me, to accept me a human being (flaws and all), and to listen to me carefully. My hope to is to hold this understanding with you and continue exploring the infinite realm that is the human experience. My values now are to facilitate the space for you to establish your understanding of your whole self and to see what creative paths it will take to create the life you desire.
