Somatic Therapy (Body Centered)

From a somatic foundation of working mindfully and dropping into the body, you can get to the heart of what is stuck to process and transform it. Somatics helps you to learn how to relate to your body as a safe refuge, a reliable communicator of your feelings and needs, and a wisdom keeper that can guide you.

EcoTherapy

Ecotherapy can be incorporated via telehealth, or in sessions outdoors that invite in nature's input as a co-therapist to support your process. Relationship with nature is so absent in our everyday lives, so reconnecting can nourish deep wells within us that were in need and restore a sense of resilience and deep belonging. Time and time again, in outdoor sessions, I have seen nature attunes to us and respond to our process, emotions, and needs in astounding ways to offer support and healing.

EMDR

EMDR taps directly into the nervous system for re-wiring and reprocessing traumatic material, so you do not have to re-live overwhelming memories, go through flashbacks, get flooded, or even be able to access content verbally and talk through it in order to heal. EMDR can also help by "installing" new resourcing capacities or supports and re-wiring all kinds of patterns, beliefs, and behaviors.

Play Therapy 

Play is the natural language of children, and the best way to join your child in their world. I use play therapy to understand your child and what it is like to be them, help them process difficult or painful past experiences, try on new ways of interacting, and learn different healthier ways to get their needs met and relate to others. I involve caregivers extensively, to coach and support you with new skills, and bring you into occassional sessions to work alongside myself with your child.

ADHD

Life as a neurodivergent person is its own special form of challenge and trauma. It's hard when you have never gotten the particular kind of support you need, with a lifetime of dealing with ableism without realizing that was a core part of your challenges, and feeling like 'why can't I just do the thing?!'. I specialize in ADHD'ers and Autistic folks like myself who need to work with someone with lived experience who understands these layers and works from a neurodivergent-affirming lens.

Compassion Fatigue

I specialize in therapy for therapists, caregivers and helpers- we need our own place of support where we can drop our masks, our holding presence and emotional labor for others. You deserve a refuge where you can get really excellent skilled support, where you don't have to lead or function for anyone else, where someone else will hold your experience with wisdom and compassion. Where someone will help you see your patterns so you can make different choices that return you to life and vitality.

Codependency

I can help you learn how to stay anchored and connected to yourself and your own authentic needs and desires. From that place, we can figure out the healthy boundaries for your life and relationships that, as Prentice Hemphill says, "are the distance at which I can love you and me simultaneously". We will help you carve out a space to know yourself, so you can interact with others from freedom and peace, and control the only thing there is to control- your choices and your agency and your life.

Cultural and Systemic Oppression

The dominant culture we are surrounded by and must survive within is destructive and exploitative and deeply unjust. It is corrosive to the soul and to the fabric of our belonging to each other and to Life. It is the cause of much of our suffering. You are not broken if you are struggling within it. I bring a liberatory, anti-oppressive, decolonial lens to therapy as a space where we unpack the influence of these forces and find life giving ways of navigating and dismantling them.
