My Ideal Client

I specialize in working with women identifying people who are looking for greater embodiment, vitality and wholeness in their lives. Creating the felt sense of feeling fully alive can sometimes mean saying “yes” to the hard parts, the patterns that no longer serve us and our relationships or the habits we've developed along the way that are not aligned with our values or our life direction.

My Approach to Helping

My approach is formed from developmental and attachment based models, mindfulness and somatic practices while utilizing a feminist lens. I am grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as I believe that psychological flexibility and living by one's values are pertinent to our mental health. I practice from a non-judgemental, trauma informed, strengths based and curiosity driven approach to help clients get to where they would like to be in their lives. I do this by creating a collaborative environment where clients feel supported and encouraged to be courageous, because that is what therapy is, a courageous endeavor!

My Values as a Therapist

I believe all people deserve the chance to live a life driven by meaning, value and connection. The form of counseling that I take part in focuses on internal and relational growth, and empowerment. I practice from a social justice lens meaning that I am committed to understanding the impact of systemic oppression on my clients' mental health and well-being. Therapy should be a place where you can feel heard and seen!

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EcoTherapy External link

I offer experiential outdoor therapy in the form of "walk and talks" at local parks throughout the Portland metro area. We meet outdoors for the 50 minute session and invite the natural world into our frame of reference. Having our bodies in movement outdoors is inherently healing and can be a practice of regulating and grounding that can be taken into the clients everyday life.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Postpartum External link

I'm currently registered for an Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy Training taking place in Feb. 2025.

  • Men's Issues External link

I received a certificate from the center of community engagement from Lewis & Clark college for a training called "Creating a Safe Space: Working with Latino & Black Men in Therapy" in 2022.
