My Ideal Client

If you seek healing, learning, or growth… If you embrace curiosity, awe, or the unknown… If you are neurodivergent, spiritual, an INFJ, or just sick of "as usual" therapy (and healthcare!)... then I might be the therapist for you. You want support, guidance, skills, creativity, depth, and empathy, not just a passive listener. You want to actively change your life. LGBTQIA2S+ and BIPOC clients are very much welcomed. PTSD, persistent pain, or chronic illness? I get you, let's talk.

How I Can Help You

I listen. I create a treatment approach that is unique for each client, and invite your active input and collaboration throughout our work together. I have extensive training in neurophysiology, sensorimotor psychotherapy, clinical hypnosis, pain reprocessing therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Ego State Therapy, Nonviolent Communication, and Heartmath. I'm a strengths-oriented therapist: I will help you grow what's right about you, guide your skill development, nourish your confidence, and inspire you to take action. I'm sensitive, curious, open-minded, and a lateral thinker. In session I'm active, creative, playful, and very intuitive. I understand the profound importance of feeling safe, and I can help you cultivate that within yourself, then use that resource to change your life. My background in high acuity mental health, substance use, trauma, and multidisciplinary pain treatment programs helps me understand what other therapists often do not.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

I stand for compassion, justice, creativity, curiosity, excellence, and depth. My work is rooted in consent, empowerment, and building safety. More and more I find myself abandoning the coercive assumptions of our society and of healthcare. Doing so has been transformative for my clients as well as myself. I am proud to be an immigrant, neurodivergent, and a nonbinary transwoman. I'm all of spiritual, science-oriented, and anti-dogmatic. Maybe we'll explore runes, magic, mythology, art, music, or dreams. Maybe we'll talk about neuroscience, biology, or philosophy. Therapy is a creative art that I relish, the 'quest for the real.' That's a quest I am entirely dedicated to and it is my privilege to help others who also seek their version of that authenticity. I don't just 'help' clients, I model being myself. In the end, the ability to embrace oneself, as one is - that's the true calling. I'm very intentional, and rarely speak or act in session without knowing why. Ask me!

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Sensorimotor External link

I completed Level I Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which is at the leading edge of somatic psychotherapies for treating trauma. This approach deeply informs everything else I do and more than anything else is what my clients tell me makes the decisive, sometimes seemingly magic, difference in their treatment. It's a beautiful, elegant, flexible approach that truly helps the client develop their inner resources and capacity to live fully. Also a powerful tool for treating persistent pain.

  • Hypnotherapy External link

Clinical hypnosis is not only one of the most robustly evidence-based treatment modalities that exists, it is also strength-based, creative, playful, elegant, and empowering. It is not something I "do" to my client, but rather a collaborative process skill that you can develop with guidance to transform your experience of life both mentally and physically. It is a delight and I use self-hypnosis every day. Also a powerful tool for treating persistent pain.

  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy External link

This very playful, creative, and respectful approach to therapy invites some radically different sorts of healing conversations, and shows up in almost every session I do. Finding out 'what's right about you," and how to mobilize that to transform challenges into sources of joy and success can be a most delightful experience. This approach allows me to tailor what I do very precisely to the specific interests, values, and needs of each client; nothing generic or cookie cutter here!

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) External link

My work with IFS goes beyond the limits of most practitioners because of the way that I deepen it with my training in clinical hypnosis, sensorimotor psychotherapy, and ego state therapy. IFS allows the engagement of self as interconnected "parts" which can allow for a very humanizing, empowering, graceful, and sometimes almost magical experience in therapy.

  • Transpersonal External link

I actively engage clients around spirituality and spiritual experience. This may include working with mythic imagery, ritual, sigils, divination, guided imagery, etc. This approach can yield some exquisite, beautiful, and powerful transformation experiences, and allows me to attend very closely to each client's unique values and qualities.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Chronic Pain or Illness External link

I have extensive training in the physiology, neurophysiology, and immunology of persistent pain, including particular interests in central sensitization Ehlers-Danlos/hypermobility, fibromyalgia, IBS, and persistent pain following traumatic injuries. I can help you not only reduce the emotional and relational impact of pain, but help you learn how to reduce or resolve your pain with clinical hypnosis and pain reprocessing therapy. I have successfully treated my own pain with these methods.

  • PTSD External link

I have a profound understanding of the neurophysiology of trauma, the importance of building trust, and the skills to pace the work to make it therapeutic and not retraumatizing. My training in sensorimotor psychotherapy, internal family systems, EMDR, and clinical hypnosis grants me a remarkable range of skills and approaches for treating trauma. Perhaps more importantly, I have overcome my own severe (c)PTSD and this makes me particularly suited to guiding others on the path of healing.

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

As a queer, pansexual, nonbinary transwoman, I am profoundly attuned to the unique journeys that being LGBTQIA2S+ entails. My practice is particularly focused on working with members of our community as they navigate their own identities, relationships, experiences of marginalization and oppression, and their unique healing needs.

  • Autism External link

As a late diagnosed autistic, I am well acquainted with the grieving process of coming to terms with ablism. As autism is a special interest, I am constantly educating myself further as to its expression, meaning, and how to find in it cause to celebrate life. I also have a deep understanding of the way autism can constellate with factors such as PTSD, OCD, anxiety, hypermobility, substance use, and being trans.

  • Spirituality External link

If you are drawn or connected to non-mainstream spiritualities, you will find me to be educated, understanding, and engaged. I regularly incorporate spiritual practice into my work, always in a collaborate and creative process with my client. This can include divination, sigil magic, visualization, ritual, dream work, and discussion of mythology and philosophy.
