My Ideal Client

Living with a harsh inner critic can feel deeply limiting. Anxiety, depression, past trauma, or identity-related stress may leave you feeling overwhelmed and stuck, making it difficult to live the life you want. But you don’t have to face these struggles alone. I offer a compassionate, supportive space to explore your concerns and move toward healing.

My Background and Approach

My approach focuses on helping you cultivate self-compassion, clarify your needs and values, and develop healthier patterns of behaviors. I also provide couples counseling, helping partners break negative cycles, deepen emotional connection, and build a more secure, loving relationship. I use evidence-based therapies, including Emotion-Focused Therapy(EFT) for individuals and couples, compassion-focused interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). My goal is to foster a space where you feel seen and supported. Together, we can work toward greater joy, connection, and purpose in your life and relationships. With over 10 years of clinical experience, I have had the privilege of working with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds in a variety of settings, including Veterans Affairs Medical Centers, Psychological Services Center at the University of Memphis, community mental health clinics, and group practice settings.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in honoring your wisdom and lived experience in our work together, blending these with evidence-based interventions. As a 1.5 generation immigrant who grew up in a low-income immigrant household, I bring a personal understanding of how systems and identities impact emotional well-being. I employ a multicultural, holistic lens to therapy, understanding each client’s experiences within the context of their unique history, culture, and community. I’m passionate about serving marginalized communities, including BIPOC individuals, immigrants, and those impacted by systemic oppression. Outside of my work, I enjoy cooking, reading, volunteering, and being in nature in and around Portland, Oregon.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Emotionally Focused External link

I approach therapy from a culturally responsive, trauma-informed lens, honoring your wisdom and lived experience and integrating evidence-based interventions. I have specialized training in Compassion-Focused Interventions, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals and couples, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • PTSD External link

Traumatic experiences—including physical, sexual, or emotional abuse or neglect—can leave us feeling unsafe, unworthy, or unloved, and often lead to emotional challenges such as PTSD. Together, we will focus on tools to manage triggers, engage in helpful behaviors, and foster a sense of safety and empowerment. I tailor treatment to the client's symptom presentation and typically intergrate Prolonged Exposure, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and self-compassion interventions.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

I aim to understand each partner’s hopes and goals for the relationship. Together, we’ll work to: *Identify and shift unhelpful dynamics. *Express feelings and needs with clarity and compassion. *Strengthen emotional connection and understanding. I have training in Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy, which helps couples explore and express underlying emotions and unmet attachment needs, fostering empathy and connection.

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety shows up as persistent worry, fear, and physical symptoms that leave you feeling exhausted and unable to fully enjoy your life. In therapy, we’ll uncover the underlying factors driving your anxiety and develop practical tools to help you approach life with greater ease and confidence.

  • Depression External link

When you’re experiencing depression, you find it difficult to get out of bed or complete even the simplest tasks. You find yourself unable to enjoy things and disconnected from the people you care about. Together, we’ll explore the internal and external factors contributing to your depression and practice strategies to help you feel more hopeful and reconnected to what matters most.

  • Cultural and Systemic Oppression External link

Marginalized communities often face additional stress due to systemic oppression, which can profoundly impact identity and well-being. Our work together provides a safe space to explore your identity, manage stress, navigate relationships, and where possible, take actions to advocate for yourself.
