For some, therapy is about exploring what it means to be you, and how to thrive in your relationships, your community, family, or career. For others, it’s a necessary opportunity to process loss, grief, and transition. At times, therapy is a place to sit with difficult decisions and contemplate change. In all of these cases, I am with you and I hear you, exactly where you are.
Specialties
I will work with you and your partner to learn to communicate better, understand and accept each other, and deepen your relationship. I will help you to better understand your emotional responses and needs, individually and as a couple. In our work together, you and your partner will learn to identify and reshape interactions that cause pain and distance between you. We will collaborate to enhance feelings of closeness and connection as your love becomes more secure.
Therapy in my view is most effective and valuable when it is a collaboration. In our work together, we will engage in a partnership, because l believe that you hold within you the power to create happiness, contentment, and peace.
Specialties
Using integrated tools from the study of interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, and psychodevelopmental psychology, I support you to better know your nervous system & the ways your body holds onto pain and/or fear. By gaining this new awareness, we can work to transform self-abandoning habits and unproductive interplay in your relationships.
I'm trained in and use the following tools and models in my work with couples: Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) Gottman Theory For Couples
I am dedicated to working with clients with complex trauma, intimacy disorders, dissociation, attachment issues, relationship issues, grief, anxiety, and depression.
