My Ideal Client

Do you find yourself frustrated by repeating the same patterns or feeling unsettled or unclear? Are you needing a space to process and sift through the complexities of your thoughts about your relationships, challenging interactions, or what you want out of life? I love working with adults who with a wide variety of challenges. I especially love working with folks who are brand new to therapy, feeling at a crux of an identity shift, and young adults.

My Background and Approach

I work by being an active participant in your process. I believe that increased awareness helps us understand ourselves and the way we are making meaning in the world and gives us the opportunity to try out new ways of being, responding, and coping. No one is broken or in need of fixing, but sometimes we need a listening ear to remind us of who we are, to encourage us when bumps in the road arise, and to help us clarify our goals. I bring a sense of curiosity and practicality to our work. I welcome feedback and adjust accordingly if folks are looking for a more directive, solution focused approach or if your way of processing is less linear. I have been in the mental health field for ten years now, working in a wide variety of settings including community mental health, a university counseling center, and in the EAP space.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that human beings have immense potential for growth and change. Often we develop ways of coping and surviving that serve is in the moment and become less useful later on. Much of therapy is shedding a light on these patterns of beings and looking at what we want to continue on with and what we want to shift or let go of.
