My Ideal Client

I believe in creating a space that will provide you with the courage and strength to empower your life and support you where ever you may be in your journey. Today is a new day. A new start. Let's work together to create a life that is more fulfilled, meaningful and heading the right direction. It will not always be easy but it will be worth it. Let's do this. I encourage you to come as you are. Being able to be real and ready for these life challenges and developing healthier ways to manage.

My Approach to Helping

A bit about my approach to therapy: In therapy, I utilize various theories, modalities and approaches depending on your specific concerns and needs. I have worked in many different areas over the last 26 years including grief work with children and adults, PTSD, depression and anxiety. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is aimed at changing unhelpful thinking and also learned behavior patterns. I have found the use of art as a great way to express what cannot be said in words. I cannot say enough about importance of self care planning. What you can expect from our first session: Change in our lives does not happen overnight and remembering that change is a process. It is important to be kind and gentle to yourself along the way. This is something I strongly encourage. Small goals that are achievable are very important that can lead to those larger goals. Therapy should not feel stressful but something you look forward to that gives you more than what you started with.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone is unique, important and valuable. Being able to be heard, understood, cared for and respected is something that I want you to feel when you are in therapy with me. I am currently the clinical director for a non-profit that helps families and children in grief. Loss changes life and having the right support to navigate through this is important. I feel I can provide you with the right tools and support. I have experience in working with those who have experienced a loss by suicide. I have walked this road myself and know the immense challenges and pain associated with this type of loss. I am here. I consider myself an athlete and know the struggles that can come along in the area of sports and competition. Feelings of low self worth, anxiety and fear of failure or not being able to be successful are constant worries as an athlete. Being able to find yourself and to enjoy what you do so well at is something that I can work with you on.
