My Ideal Client

I believe in therapy as a mutual journey of healing and discovery, where both client and therapist grow together. I specialize in working with refugees, immigrants, their first-generation children, and individuals with LGBTQIA2S+ identities. My clients have genuine desire to explore their authentic selves despite having navigated complex trauma, cultural displacement, or identity-based discrimination, they are ready to engage in deep, transformative work towards liberation.

My Background and Approach

With sixteen years of experience working in diverse communities, my therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in multicultural awareness. As a survivor and member of the global south community, I bridge personal experience with professional expertise to create healing spaces grounded in authentic, culturally-affirming relationships that honor both individual and collective wisdom. My approach integrates relational and anti-oppressive frameworks, acknowledging that healing occurs within the context of our cultural, social, and political realities. Together, we'll explore your experiences with deep empathy and respect, drawing upon the enduring strength of our ancestors and the transformative power of creative expression.

Why I Became a Therapist

As an Arab woman, immigrant, survivor, and mother, my path to therapy emerged from profound lived experiences. Beginning as a peer support specialist, I witnessed the transformative power of authentic connection and shared understanding in healing. Navigating cultural transitions, motherhood, and survival has gifted me with deep insights into resilience and growth. These intersecting identities taught me that healing isn't linear – our struggles often contain seeds of wisdom waiting to flourish. My journey from peer support to professional therapy strengthens my commitment to breaking down hierarchical barriers. My approach weaves together clinical expertise with personal understanding of how culture, trauma, and resilience shape our healing paths. This unique perspective helps me create a space where your story can unfold authentically, your experiences are deeply validated, and your resilience is recognized as a wellspring of strength.
