My Ideal Client

In my practice, I specialize in creating a highly relational therapy process which most often involves working with both you and your partner together to tackle relational challenges both acute and longstanding. No matter if you are dealing with huge life changes, struggles in communicating your needs with your partner, or navigating the fallout of infidelity or grief - I have experience helping couples from all walks of life and ages confront and rebuild the hardest parts of being in love.

My Background and Approach

It is my goal to help you find hope and empowerment both personally and for the relationships that matter most to you. In our work together, you can expect to find a supportive and safe space to explore and make steps toward changes you would like to see in yourself or in your relationship. I began practicing therapy in 2019 and have primarily focused my practice on working with couples, although I also see adult individuals for a variety of concerns including life transitions, relational challenges, men's issues, depression, and anxiety. I currently see clients at the Couples Clinic of Portland located in NW Portland. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) I am trained in systemic couples and family therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and the Gottman Method. I hold a masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University and a BA in Psychology from Oregon State University.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that connection to oneself and others is the foundation of one’s sense of security, purpose, and fulfillment. Disconnection from self and others can be distressing because we as humans are wired to be close to others from the moment we enter the world. I believe that the work done in therapy centers around trust, respect, and connection. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and enjoy working with folks from any racial and ethnic background, although most important to me is that my clients feel I am someone that they can envision trusting and being a safe person to them. In my free time I enjoy recording, producing, and performing music - playing guitar in multiple bands around the Portland area. I also enjoy spending time at home with my wife and my 11-year old Tuxedo cat watching fantasy and sci-fi TV shows.
