My Ideal Client

I work with adults who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Whether you're finding it hard to move forward, find meaningful, authentic connection, or live aligned with your values, my approach can help. I'm particularly skilled at helping those struggling with self-criticism and shame, body image concerns, or intimacy and sexuality. My evidence-based, time-limited approach is designed to help you identify unworkable patterns and develop concrete tools for lasting change.

My Background and Approach

My work is guided by what science has shown to be most effective. I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and incorporate elements of Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), evidence-based approaches that help people navigate life's challenges with greater flexibility. Therapy is a significant investment. To help you make the most of your investment, I work in a focused, time-limited model of up to 12 sessions centered on a particular struggle or theme. This approach allows us to dive deeply into making important changes in your life with clear direction and purpose. We can work together to identify unworkable patterns and develop concrete tools for lasting change. I also have extensive specialized training in psychedelic assisted therapy. I provide harm reduction and integration services for those exploring psychedelic journeys. I'm also a research therapist at Portland Psychotherapy, where I work on clinical trials investigating the therapeutic uses of MDMA and psychedelics.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

A fundamental belief in my practice: You are not broken. You are stuck. We all struggle at times to live according to our values and to stay connected with what matters most. But often, it's precisely in the areas we care about deeply that we experience the most pain. I believe that when we can align our lives with what truly matters to us, we develop the capacity to navigate life's inevitable challenges with greater flexibility and purpose. In my own life, I choose to walk through this world open-heartedly. It isn't always easy, but I find I like my life and myself more when I'm connected with that value. I bring this open-heartedness into my work as well and have deep care for the clients I serve. I also appreciate the simplicity of being in nature, including going on long walks with my dog. Adding a bit of whimsy to everyday moments brings me joy. I love exploring other cultures and perspectives, especially through food and travel.
