My Ideal Client

I welcome adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed by emptiness, or burdened by past hurts. If you’re struggling with relationship challenges, persistent self-criticism, or navigating complex identities (including LGBTQ, kink, or poly/ENM communities), my practice offers a safe, affirming space. I work with those eager to shift unworkable patterns and embrace growth, meaning, and a renewed sense of purpose.

My Background and Approach

I’m a licensed psychologist with over 20 years of clinical experience and a co-founder of Portland Psychotherapy. My practice is deeply rooted in empirical research and guided by evidence-based strategies, especially Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)—a mindfulness-based cognitive-behavioral approach that prioritizes values, acceptance, and psychological flexibility. I work within a focused, time-limited model (typically 12 sessions) to address specific challenges and foster meaningful, rapid change. In addition to traditional therapy, I offer support for clients integrating psychedelic experiences, ensuring that these explorations are safe and enriching. My relational, individualized approach is dedicated to empowering clients to break free from entrenched patterns and live with integrity, purpose, and resilience.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe every individual holds the capacity to create a life rich in meaning and authenticity. My work is guided by the conviction that healing emerges from embracing vulnerability, cultivating self-compassion, and aligning daily actions with one’s core values. Outside the therapy room, I’m passionate about writing and exploring the nuanced intersections of psychology, art, and the human experience. I value diversity and inclusivity, and I’m continually inspired by innovative ideas that challenge traditional boundaries. Whether through literature, creative expression, or community engagement, I seek to foster dialogue that advances mental health and well-being for all.
