My Approach to Helping

I support clients in increasing positive communication skills, creating healthy boundaries, improving relationships, and in processing past challenging experiences. I have extensive experience in working with individuals who have experienced sexual abuse, domestic violence, depression, and anxiety. My practice centers on creating a safe space through being inclusive and affirming to all humans by paying particular attention to each individual’s experiences and life story. I embrace working with people from diverse backgrounds and who identify on the LGBTQ spectrum.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My personal experiences combined with my love of learning, teaching, and my desire to better understand the human experience guided me to becoming a therapist. I completed both my Master’s of Education and Master’s of Counseling in Clinical Mental Health from Portland State University. Many of my professional experiences help to provide a broad foundation for my work as a therapist. My experience as a yoga instructor continues to connect me to the importance of having a holistic approach in working with each individual. My work, spanning from working with survivors of domestic violence to being in a community mental health agency, provided me with direct experience in managing crisis, creating safety, and, supporting healing. I honor the resilience in us all.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Personal Growth External link

Do you desire a deeper sense of pleasure in your life? It can feel risky, even scary, to acknowledge that you want to experience more joy, connection, and awareness. During therapy, you have the opportunity to learn more about who you are, your relationship to yourself and others, and to create healthy changes. You are incredibly brave for choosing to pursue a more spectacular life.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

Are you looking to create deeper connections in your relationships? Relationships can be challenging. Our desire for change is often only realized when we are already in pain. It can be difficult to admit we are struggling or unhappy. Through our work together, we will focus on healthy communication, setting boundaries, how to manage conflict, and create a deeper understanding of self.

  • Depression External link

Are feelings of darkness overwhelming your days? For many people experiencing depression, feeling hopeless that circumstances will change is a real and pressing experience. It can be difficult to imagine joy and pleasure. I understand the challenges of asking for help. My purpose is to support you as we explore ways to create healthy changes in your life. You are worthy of greatness.
