My Approach to Helping

My strength as a therapist is that I'm a regular person, and I don't pretend to have any fancy magic powers. What I do have is a high capacity for understanding, for listening, as well as a few techniques that can help folks understand themselves better, and get some relief. The approach I take is based on the needs of my client on that particular day. Sometimes we just need to be heard, sometimes we need someone to tell us that we're not crazy, sometimes we need tangible tools to help overcome an obstacle or unhelpful behavior. I work with my client to create a plan that they feel good about.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I know from personal experience how difficult it is to find a therapist that you connect with (and who is available), and I will do everything I can to help. I believe we can make meaningful changes to ourselves and our lives if we really want to. I believe the most important thing I can do as a therapist is create a safe, non-judgemental space. My clients can share anything with me without fear that it will make me think differently about them.
