My Ideal Client

We live in a culture which impedes the development of women, systematically hurts women, and tries to silence women’s power. I am here to help! I specialize in women's issues, trauma, and grief. I help clients as they navigate difficulties with anxiety, attachment, depression, grief, loss, low self esteem, pregnancy, postpartum, relationships and trauma.

My Approach to Helping

My approach to counseling is trauma informed, humanistic, feminist and sex positive. I utilize techniques from Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness. So what does all this mean? I collaborate with clients to build genuine and safe relationship. Using moment to moment awareness, I help clients deepen into and process their emotions. (Yes, you're in therapy to feel your feelings.) I will be there to help you regulate, make it feel less overwhelming, and make sense of it all. Through this process you will increase your self awareness, break out of unhelpful patterns, integrate new insights, learn coping skills and build resilience.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

I bring my authentic self to my work with clients. My style is warm, attuned, compassionate, direct and passionate. I truly care about my clients, and this work. I care about your pain, and the injustices you have faced. The therapeutic relationship is one of depth and of great vulnerability. I encourage you to be discerning, and make sure you find someone who is the right fit for you. If you think that could be me, please reach out to schedule a free consultation to help you decide.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Women's Issues External link

There are a variety experiences unique to women, or being female bodied. These experiences can be beautiful, deeply painful, traumatic and transformative. I help women cope with systemic oppression, rape culture, abuse, cycles of birth and loss, reproductive health, and sexuality. I help women to find their power, have stronger boundaries and a stronger sense of self.

  • PTSD External link

Almost every person experiences some form of trauma in their life. For some, the resulting effect may be Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Symptoms of PTSD can be uncomfortable, and at times scary. Your trauma is something you can gain control over. Through our work together you will learn the coping skills you need to manage the symptoms of PTSD, regain a sense of safety, grieve and reprocess your trauma so that it no longer has a substantial hold on you.

  • Loss or Grief External link

Loss touches us all. In this life we will each have many griefs. You might be mourning a death of a loved one, an end of a relationship or change in health. I know this time is deeply painful. It is often confusing as you figure out life after this loss. I know it's hard right now, but it will get better. It will be easier with support. Grief has been one of the most profound teachers in my life. It would be an honor to help you through.

  • Pregnancy (Prenatal Mental Health) External link

Pregnancy and postpartum is a journey! It is a highly emotional time as you adjust to your changing body, relationship, and life. For some birthing persons old traumas may surface. Some might experience a traumatic birth. Everyone will agree that being a parent is hard, and sleep deprivation makes everything worse. It is common to experience mood disturbance after giving birth including worsening depression or anxiety. No matter what your experience is, you deserve support along the way.
