My Ideal Client

I am a queer identified transman and have worked extensively with the LGBTQIA community. I am passionate about adapting body centered techniques in therapy to meet the needs of gender diverse clients. Clients who are interested in a less intellectualized approach to therapy tend to be a good fit. I also utilize mindfulness and meditation based approaches rooted in 10 years of Zen practice.

My Approach to Helping

I specialize in working with clients who have big questions about life. Spiritual and existential quandaries welcome! I use a Gestalt and IFS framework that focuses on you becoming your own deepest resource. With couples I use this framework to peel back the layers of conflict to better understand each person's ground. The therapeutic goal is a stronger understanding of Self that brings a deeper connection to the experience of being alive. I use a dialogic approach in my work, which means I am listening to your language and the meaning that you make out of life. Together, we help bring unconscious beliefs, patterns, and habitual thoughts to the forefront to examine. This gives individuals and couples an increased awareness and an opportunity to make great change.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that every person is capable of growth and healing. The therapeutic process is much like fine tuning a radio. Our work is to lessen the static until core needs and emotions are clear enough to hear. As a therapist, I am a visitor in the overall journey of your healing. As such, I can provide a non-judgmental, compassionate, and caring environment for you to come into deeper relationship with yourself. Ultimately, I believe we are all equipped to be our own best healers. Therapy is a place to uncover this deep inner potential, as well as to grieve, to question, to explore, and ultimately to grow.
