My Ideal Client

I work with individuals navigating gender identity, anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. My clients include LGBTQIA+ individuals, those exploring their gender or sexual identity, and anyone seeking more authenticity and fulfillment. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space to explore your unique experiences and emotions. Together, we’ll work on strategies for growth, healing, and empowerment, meeting you where you are to support your journey toward self-discovery and well-being

My Approach to Helping

I am committed to co-creating a compassionate, affirming, and non-judgmental space for individuals from all walks of life. I believe in building a collaborative space where your unique experiences, struggles, and celebrations are honored. I understand that life can feel overwhelming at times. I aim to help build a supportive space where you can express yourself freely, identify and express your feelings, as you work towards growth, healing and radical self-love. My therapeutic style is grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques. Together, we will create a personalized plan that honors your individuality and helps you build resilience, clarity, and self-awareness.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Being human means we're always learning about ourselves in the contexts that we find ourselves in. Sometimes, that can be really overwhelming when we attach parts of ourselves to the learning process. We can find ourselves saying, "It's too late for me to learn this," or, "I should have known this [XXX] years ago." I hold the firm belief that this ability to learn, and unlearn, is something to be celebrated. It is through learning that we nurture our growth edges to becoming our authentic selves. We all have growth edges that need self-compassion and nurturing! Together, it is my goal that we unlearn some of the ways we have interacted with these areas of growth and help you move towards authenticity and healing.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Gender Identity External link

I have experience navigating Gender Identity both professionally and personally. I have offered therapeutic services, including letter writing for gender affirming care, for trans and gender non-binary folk for approximately eight years. Each person is different, though I often find that exploring the person as a whole facilities towards authentic gender identity exploration rather than focusing exclusively on gender identity.

  • Autism External link

I have worked with folks on the autism spectrum in different capacities for over 18 years. Working as a direct support professional for individuals with cognitive and intellectual disabilities is what fostered my drive to continue my education and enter the field of psychology. I specialized in intellectual and psychological assessment in my internship and postdoctoral years while simultaneously building a therapeutic caseload with these presentations.

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

I have identified within the LGBTQ community since I was in high school and have explored my own identity throughout my life in this framework. Professionally, I worked with college aged folks exploring their own identities within the community and continued building competency in this community throughout my education and profession. I believe that "competency" does not have a specific end date and instead is an ongoing active process of learning more.

  • ADHD External link

ADHD is hard! I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult and have found multiple tactics that work (and plenty that don't) in my day to day. I often work with folks who have ADHD and work with them to find behavioral techniques that work for them. Creativity and curiosity are two of the most important factors I have found when exploring how to navigate living with neurodiversity both personally and with those I work with.
