My Approach to Helping

I approach each client with the understanding that their story and experience is unique to them. I seek to join with clients in a respectful way that acknowledges their own wisdom through practical, supportive, and empathetic connection. I recognize the array of challenges a person will come into my office facing and I seek to integrate emotions, thoughts, experiences and actions to hopefully move towards a happier more fulfilled life.My work is approached from a collaborative blend of different theories including Attachment, Family Systems, Emotion-Focused, and Internal Family Systems. Some of my goals with using these theories are to increase awareness and insight around your patterns in relationships and where you are getting stuck. We may do this by using your emotions in times of distress as information rather as something to avoid or be afraid of. We may look at some parts of us that are confusing and frustrating and try to approach them with curiosity as opposed to criticism.
