My Ideal Client

The folks I typically serve tend to have lived experience with traumatic events in their life. They have survived experiences such as domestic violence and sexual assault, child abuse, systemic racism, war, natural disasters and many others. Many folks have experienced the sudden or traumatic loss of a loved one or have had to navigate toxic relationships with family members. All of these experiences and more can benefit from trauma-focused therapy with a safe person as a guide.

My Approach to Helping

I identify as an integrative and feedback-informed therapist, which means that I use multiple types of evidence-based therapy depending on your need and rely on regular feedback from patients to guide the process. This allows me to individualize therapy to your needs as a whole and unique person. I believe that people and our complex needs can't be solved through a textbook or modality (type of therapy) alone. Relationships, humanity and creativity are also needed to be successful! The modalities that I am formally trained to use include: EMDR Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Exposure Therapy. The treatment and tools we decide to use on your journey is a collaborative decision that we make together as a team. There is no template to healing!

My Values as a Therapist

I am a member of the BIPOC community as a person who is mixed-race and indigenous. I identify as a feminist, an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community and I believe that Black Lives Matter. I am grounded in social work principles and believe in the advancement of social justice for all communities, not just a select few. I support diversity and understand that most folks who identify as a minority member of a community experience injustice such as racism, classism and misogyny. It is my goal to help people take meaning from these experiences and find peace in a world that feels unsafe.
