My Ideal Client

I serve children, teens, families, couples, and individuals. My young clients often have experienced trauma that is impacting their behaviors at school or at home. Their parents also may need some extra support to help their kiddo. For teens, my clients are in a critical identity development stage and need extra support to address anxiety or depression symptoms. For my families and couples, conflict and challenging communication has prevented the connection they desire.

My Approach to Helping

My therapeutic approach is primarily relational, compassion-driven, and person-centered. I ground my work in attachment theory, hold a systemic orientation, and draw from Satir's Model of Therapy. I also specialize in Child-Centered Play Therapy for clients aged 3 to 10 years old who are experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. I utilize other expressive mediums, like sandtray to aid in the recovery of my clients. I believe that you have resources and wisdom inside of you, and having a compassionate, empathetic person like me come alongside you on your journey can be just what you need to witness the challenges you have and currently are experiencing to walk towards the health and wholeness you are seeking. I work in a Christian Group Practice and serve clients of all faith backgrounds. This is something we'll address in our initial consult to make sure any questions or concerns you have are addressed.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I resonate deeply with the poem "Guest House" by Rumi, and find that therapy can be a safe place to welcome and entertain all the arrivals coming to your guest house at this time, and in welcoming them, you can find an internal peace and wholeness to steady yourself from. "This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still, treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond."
