My Ideal Client

Does life feel overwhelming life? Are you dealing with anxious thoughts or having a hard time motivating in the direction of your goals? I want to help you connect with your own inner strength and discover what might be getting in the way of living your best life. I like to work collaboratively with teens and adults ages 13 and up on issues such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, and divorce.

My Approach to Helping

I use creative methods to explore emotions and thought patterns that present in your life. Though verbal inquiry and art-making, together we use non-judgmental curiosity to better understanding your story and your needs. My work is trauma-informed and mindfulness-based. I believe that mental health is intimately tied to relationships, and that therapy can provide a safe setting to practice new ways of engaging with others and oneself. No art experience is necessary, but an openness to trying new things is always helpful.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that the relationship we develop with ourselves is the most important one but can not happen in a vacuum. Therapy is an important step toward living with intention and improving our connection with ourselves. I have personally experienced how art-making and mindfulness practices can facilitate this process. I believe every human is innately creative and curious, but sometimes negative messages, stress, and trauma block that natural flow.  Our work together can help unblock it. Besides my training and experience as an art therapist, I have extensive training in Interpersonal Neurobiology.  This framework guides my approach, utilizing attachment science, neuroscience, and poly-vagal theory to understand the body-mind-relationship connection.  I have practiced yoga for over 20 years and maintain a personal art practice to stay connected to my own body and mind. I also love traveling and playing outdoors with my two teens and my dog Sunny.
