My Ideal Client

I work with young people so that they can feel less alone and more connected to a greater understanding of themselves, their joy, and how to move through hardship. My goal is to create a warm, open, and non-judgmental space where you can feel more understood, connected, and supported. My areas of speciality include teens who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and stress, who are hesitant about therapy, mixed/multi-racial & BIPOC youth, & queer, trans, & gender expansive youth.

My Approach to Helping

As a therapist, my style is approachable and creative. I believe that therapeutic relationships grounded in trust and authenticity foster greater self exploration, growth, and healing. Sessions with me are collaborative and attuned-- meaning I like to work together & am mindful of your needs. Come to therapy one day and really don't feel like talking? I get it, maybe we can draw or find a song to listen to together as a way to get started. I am influenced by a number of evidence-based therapeutic modalities that can be useful tools to help reduce suffering in the moment, grow self-compassion, and help us gain greater understanding of our complex selves. Liberatory, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive frameworks are central to my practice.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I come to this work because of my own experiences in adolescence and the belief that there is so much to navigate during adolescence and emerging adulthood that is often minimized or misunderstood. I also believe there is wisdom, transformation, and blossoming, that can arise out of the hardship. As a queer mixed race person of Korean and white descent, I offer additional perspectives and lived experience around the joys, challenges (and everything in between), that come with the task of navigating multiple identities during a life stage centered around gaining a greater sense of self. I believe that healing happens within trusting relationships and that we shouldn’t have to go through difficulty alone.
