My Ideal Client

Many neurodivergent adults have done extensive research about their experience and already know who they are, but sometimes there is a voice that lingers and doubts self-identification. Going through the assessment process can help quiet this voice, provide additional understanding about your strengths and needs, and give you the documentation you need to advocate for accommodations at work or school. (Note: Cannot be used to apply for disability.)

My Approach to Helping

I think of autism and ADHD as inherently neutral differences in how our brains can process information. These differences can be incredibly challenging in a world that does not often understand or accept them, but there isn't anything pathological about the differences themselves. During the assessment, I see myself as the bridge between the tools we use for diagnosis (the DSM, which is not ND-affirming) and our conversation. My hope is that you feel understood and validated in your experiences and leave with a greater understanding of yourself. Most of my work is with AdultAutismAssessment.com conducting neurodivergent-affirming assessments. I have a small private practice where I do individual therapy over telemedicine for autistic adults with a history of trauma, dissociation, and/or chronic health conditions including autistic burnout.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I love exploring how people think, feel, sense, and connect. In addition to being neurodivergent myself, I have several chronic conditions, including hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, POTS, MCAS, SIBO, and migraines, and I advocate for doctors with disabilities. My background is in naturopathic medicine, integrative mental health, mind/body medicine and somatics including Hakomi, herbal medicine, nutrition, craniosacral therapy, and movement practices. My approach to care is trauma-informed and I use the following: polyvagal theory, Health at Every Size, neurodiversity paradigm, mindfulness, nature cure, two-eyed seeing, and harm reduction.
