My Ideal Client

What gets me excited is the opportunity to work with clients who are motivated to grow, change, and learn. It's important to me that clients I work with feel safe to be vulnerable and honest.

My Background

I've been a social worker since 2008, but before that I gained experience working in public health, and LGBT family advocacy. Since getting my MSW, I've worked in Child Welfare, and as a Medical Social Worker specializing in pediatric oncology. As a clinician, I work with clients around issues related to grief and loss, life transitions, adoption, neurodivergence, identity, family of origin, relationships, and chronic or life-limiting illness.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a person who carries a lot of privilege. I recognize that I am responsible for my own learning about the role I play in perpetuating oppression. I became a social worker specifically because I was interested in being an advocate for LGBT parents within the child welfare system. At that time, marriage equality was a big focus and I raised my voice for that purpose. As I've grown, and our culture has become more polarized, talking about the issues that matter to me and also affect all of our mental health, like misogyny, racism, ableism, weight-bias, classism, have come to play a bigger part of my practice.
