My Ideal Client

Have you found yourself having the same argument over and over with your partner? Are you feeling overwhelmed by your child’s behavior after stressful experiences? Do you feel disoriented and alone after leaving a high control group or religious context? Have you ever been called "too sensitive" or do you struggle to separate yourself from the emotions of other people? If any of these situations resonate with you, we may be a good fit!

My Approach to Helping

The foundation of my work as a therapist is forming a safe and trusting relationship with my clients. I view therapy as a collaborative process between therapist and client and take a strengths-based approach, believing you are not at a deficit and are not defined by a diagnosis or symptoms. I recognize that social justice issues are a major contributor to many mental health concerns and do not see my clients in isolation from the issues going on in our world. You can expect to move at a pace that is comfortable for you, learning to trust the wisdom of your body through engaging in play, artistic expression and embodiment practices. I believe that we already have resources within us, but that trauma (individual, family and on a systemic scale) has separated us from ourselves, each other and the earth. I have extensive training/experience using trauma-informed modalities, like IFS & EMDR, to help you feel more connected to yourself and your relationships.

More About the People I Treat

My areas of focus include: Family therapy & Parent support; Couples/Partner therapy; Empaths & Sensitive folks; Religious trauma recovery; and Foster care/Adoption support. I have had extensive experience in supporting trauma recovery for those with PTSD & other other post-traumatic diagnoses. I have worked in the community mental health setting supporting children, families and couples with relational & attachment traumas. I have led support groups for parents, LGBTQIA+ youth and in-school sexual assault recovery groups for high schoolers. Some specific traumas I have experience working with includes: Infant & early life trauma, sexual abuse/assault, foster care/adoption and religious trauma. I love helping people heal within the context of their important relationships and believe that lasting change comes when we address the entire system.
