My Ideal Client

If you've found yourself feeling stuck in a rut and repeating those all too familiar patterns, having the same argument with yourself and loved ones - therapy is a tool that can help us move into change and new ways of being. Learning how to manage our emotions and communicate who we are is a challenge, and you don't have to do it alone - have the guidance of a professional can help. My goal is to provide a safe and warm space to nurture your personal growth.

My Approach to Helping

As a systemic therapist, I believe our relationships, connections, and community are integral to our emotional health. When life is difficult, our relationships support and help pull us through hard times. I want to support your healing and guide you towards sustainable goals, allowing you to live to your full potential. If you’ve arrived to my page, then you’re in the right place so let me help you take the first steps towards growth!

Why I Became a Therapist

Becoming a therapist has been a fulfilling path, and like many others it began with a deep curiosity to explore our human experience. After changing my major multiple times, my education shifted towards music therapy - and while music is still a big part of my life, I found myself wanting to spend more time connecting with my clients and hearing their stories, eventually leading me into psychology and talk therapy. I continued my education at Antioch University in Seattle, a school with over 170 years of social-justice education and advocacy where I earned a masters in couple and family therapy. Pulling from both my education and personal experiences I strive to bring elements of humanity, egality, and authenticity to my practice. I approach treatment with a systemic perspective giving a holistic view of who we are, our cultures, attachments, values, relationships, and experiences.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Personal Growth External link

I believe everyone has an inner drive to become a better version of themselves, but maladaptive patterns prevent us from growing. I am trained in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to help address negative thinking, maladaptive behaviors, and open the path to healing. 'Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom'-Aristotle

  • Family Conflict External link

Our family and upbringing have a massive impact throughout our lives and relationships. Nearly all families experience dysfunction at some point, which family therapy can help to address. I have worked with different types of families from single parents, adoption and fostering, to the traditional nuclear family.

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

I am passionate about issues in the LGBTQ community and have taken courses in gender and sexuality. I specialize in adolescent and teen LGBTQ issues such as orientation, gender expression and gender roles, transitioning, and the coming out process.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

The focus of my degree was in using systemic therapy, meaning I look at how our relationships function and effect us. The earliest relationships we have with our families are a blueprint for how we interact with the world, especially with our partner. If you're feeling disconnected, learning how to resolve conflict and communicate can revive the spark in your relationship!

  • Anxiety External link

Anxiety is a natural, biological response to stress, and it's our body's way of protecting us. But when we become overwhelmed by anxious thoughts it can disrupt our relationships and career. If you're experiencing panic attacks, stress, OCD, PTSD, or phobias, don't let it control you enjoying your life. I use a mix of evidence-based treatments including CBT, mindfulness techniques, and exposure.
