My Ideal Client

I truly appreciate the amazing brilliance of adolescents and young adults. Their energy, passion and introspection is a gift that I value. I am grateful when families/parents allow me to partner with them as they navigate times that may be filled with trepidation and grief. I feel privileged to be allowed to help adults navigate challenging times as we search for the self compassion that we should all have for ourselves.

My Approach to Helping

After over 30 years working with a wide variety of adolescents, families and adults; I have wisdom to share. I will partner with clients to reach their mental health and social connection goals. We will look at the challenges through a Poly Vagal lens and move forward to Safety and Connection.

My Values as a Therapist

I am a woman, a mother and a Social Worker; I believe in the goodness of all people and acknowledge that fear keeps many from establishing and keeping safe and healthy connections with others. I am an Oregonian, daughter of a Forest Service Worker, wife of a carpenter and was a Portland Public Schools employee for over 20 years. I became a therapist/Social Worker because people are amazing and I want to help folks realize their own gifts and how they can use these strengths to improve their lives and the lives of others. I want to help diminish the hopelessness that often leads to behaviors that can be hurtful.
