My Ideal Client
I truly appreciate the amazing brilliance of adolescents and young adults. Their energy, passion and introspection is a gift that I value. I am grateful when families/parents allow me to partner with them as they navigate times that may be filled with trepidation and grief.
My Approach to Helping
After over 30 years working with a wide variety of adolescents, families and young adults; I have wisdom to share. I will partner with clients to reach their mental health and social connection goals. We will look at the challenges through a Poly Vagal lens and move forward to Safety and Connection.
My Values as a Therapist
I am a woman, a mother and a Social Worker; I believe in the goodness of all people and acknowledge that fear keeps many from establishing and keeping safe and healthy connections with others.
I am an Oregonian, daughter of a Forest Service Worker, wife of a carpenter and was a Portland Public Schools employee for over 20 years.
I became a therapist/Social Worker because people are amazing and I want to help folks realize their own gifts and how they can use these strengths to improve their lives and the lives of others. I want to help diminish the hopelessness that often leads to behaviors that can be hurtful.
