Many of us come from cultures where mental health was simply not on our radar. We performed, did our best, and simply dealt with the cost. This is often particularly true of veterans, first responders, and others whose jobs engage with physical reality. Thankfully today, we are better able to address the stress and cost of life. It can be a bit of an awkward mystery, wondering what actually happens in therapy. Actually, it is much like a conversation, and is often surprisingly helpful.
Specialties
I hold a certificate in Ecopsychology from Lewis and Clark College.
Specialties
I am a researcher exploring sources for suicidal behavior in firefighters. This background highlights some of the common sources of distress, including burnout, lack of close relationships, and lack of meaning.
