My Ideal Client

You will be supported you as you process your past, heal emotional wounds, deepen self-awareness, grow in relationships, craft your future, claim your power, find your truth, embrace peace, and discover what it means to truly thrive. As a client, you are committed to the process and willing to persevere with curiosity through the challenging and rewarding phases of the psychotherapy journey.

My Approach to Helping

My counseling style is grounded in a person-centered approach through a humanistic lens. It is trauma informed, integrative, holistic, intuitive, sprinkled with humor, and infused with authenticity. I am trained in EMDR therapy, which is an incredibly effective approach to relieve acute and complex trauma and so much more. It's always an honor to bear witness to the profound healing that transpires through this remarkable, and relatively rapid, method of treatment. I specialize in addressing self-esteem, acute and complex PTSD, and narcissistic abuse recovery. Additional issues: anxiety, attachment issues, bipolar disorder, boundaries, career changes, codependency, communication, depression, divorce/separation, domestic/relationship abuse, existential concerns, gender expression and identity, gender transition, infidelity, life changes, relationships, self-discovery, self-esteem, sexuality, spirituality, and more.

Why I Became a Therapist

After 20 years in the marketing design and fine art fields; I recognized and accepted that I've been guided toward becoming a psychotherapist throughout my life. In my 40's, I took a deep breath and embarked on the journey to support others on their healing path. Three years later, I completed a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. After graduating in 2020, I opened a private practice and contracted with other counseling groups in the Denver metro area. In 2024, I became dual licensed (LPC) to serve residents in both Colorado and Oregon. Thus, I relocated to the Portland Metro area—where I was born and raised—to serve Oregonians and live close to my family again.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

I became "EMDR trained" in 2019 and have provided hundreds of clients with this highly effective method that can produce remarkable results. (EMDR is the abbreviation for the formal term, Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing.)

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • PTSD External link

In 2019, I became EMDR trained through the Trauma Recovery, EMDR Humanitarian Assistance Programs. This method of relieving the symptoms resulting from acute and complex PTSD—such as low self-esteem— is remarkably effective; often with rapid results. My role in this process is as a guide: managing the pace to ensure the process feels safe.

  • Bipolar External link

Navigating daily life while navigating a diagnosis of bipolar disorder can be very difficult. Maintaining awareness of one’s thoughts, moods, and behaviors is essential to overall wellness and a good quality of life. I believe that how a person manages their symptoms is a personal choice. There are many options and approaches to explore and find what works best for you.
